East Bay Area quilter Alethea Ballard is the author of Chair Quilts, 7 blocks for Whimsical Wall Hangings and Maverick Quilts, Using Large-Scale Prints, Novelty Fabrics, & Panels With Panache.
Using an impromptu working style Alethea creates maverick quilts, and she lets the creative spark and freedom from convention guide her work. Using this relaxed working style, Alethea lets the quilt fabrics lead her through an impromptu design process as each quilt and wall hanging is created.
Alethea combines her artist's eye and love of color and fabrics to create innovative and art quilts using her spontaneous and joyful working style. She hopes to teach and inspire quilters of all abilities to bust out and join in using her Maverick quilting style.
